Roque is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified EMDR Therapist. Roque has
experience working with clients, adult and children, on a wide range of mental health and
behavioral issues specially with clients who have experienced trauma. Roque uses a modality
called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR can resolve the
impact of past traumas to let you live in the present more fully.
Roque also uses Solution Focused Approach which is a future focused and goal directed
approach. As indicated by its name, it focuses on solutions rather than on the problems.
Solution Focused Approach is a short term, hope friendly, client empowering, and a future
oriented therapy technique designed to formulating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavior
change. Roque also uses Trauma Informed Care Parenting Technique by using the Trust Based
Relations Intervention model to assist parents dealing with children with either simple or
complex trauma.
Roque earned his Master of Science in Family and Youth Services from Bellevue University in
2010. Roque has worked at different capacities in several mental health organizations in Palm
Beach, Broward, and the Treasure Coast. Roque has provided therapy to children in the foster
care, as well as children and their families whether foster, adoptive or biological families. Roque
has also managed emergency shelters in Broward and Palm Beach and also managed a team
of mental health workers providing parenting support and behavioral interventions to children
and families in Palm Beach County.
Roque lives in the Town of Jupiter with his family. He is a husband and father of 4 amazing
teenagers. Roque loves the outdoors, camping, bike riding, and traveling through Florida, the
US, and abroad.
